Allison Joseph, Professor and Director of the MFA Program at SIUC, not to mention editor of the university's graduate-level literary magazine, Crab Orchard Review, celebrated the written word in a number of in-person and online events November 19-20.
Supported by her COR staff, new professors, alumni, and countless others, Allison successfully corralled "a sparkling few days of community building for the arts," says Dustin M. Hoffman, new Associate Professor of English Literature. "Each reader was so impressive;
I was deeply moved. Every event, every line shared, filled me with such hope. The arts are indeed alive at SIUC."
Celebrating 30 years as a highly respected, award-winning publication, COR is produced by the School of Literature, Writing, and Digital Humanities. Its next issue will release this winter, while work on the 2026 COR Literary Fest & Reunion is already underway!
Leading the work is, of course, Allison, and her poetry

interns: Kassidy Jordon, Libby Gerdes, and Kaylee Salazar.
